A year ago, an Air India plane crashed near Ahmedabad in India. It was flying to London. The crash killed 260 people. It happened soon after take-off. The plane hit a medical college campus.
Investigators still do not know the full reason. They are still looking at flight data, the plane’s systems, the engines, repair records, and human actions.
An early report said two fuel switches moved to the off position shortly after take-off. This cut fuel to both engines. Some people think this may point to a pilot action. Others think the crew may have tried to save the plane.
Investigators also look at the cockpit voices and a backup windmill-like device that can give power in an emergency. The final report is still not ready.
