Anthropic makes Claude, an AI tool. It made $16.8 billion from July to September, up about 46% from the three months before. It plans to sell shares, or small parts of the company, to the public in November. Its target company value is up to $2 trillion.
In a separate effort, Anthropic announced a plan on Sunday. It wants to put 5% of its shares into a fund to help people. The company's owners must approve the plan first.
The fund could give money to groups that help people or pay some people directly. It could also help with changes to jobs because of AI. Anthropic already promised money to study AI's effects on work.
