A huge snake lived in India about 47 million years ago. Scientists found 27 bones from its back in Gujarat, in western India. They named the snake Vasuki indicus. They described the discovery in 2024.
The snake may have been 36 to 50 feet long. Its exact size is not certain. It could have been as long as Titanoboa, another huge ancient snake.
Vasuki probably moved slowly. It may have hidden and waited for other animals to come close before attacking. Its home was warm and had wet land. The warmth may have helped it grow so large.
