Sony Will Stop New Game Discs in 2028

Sony will stop making physical game discs for new PlayStation games in January 2028. After that, new games will be sold as digital codes. People can buy these codes in PlayStation stores or in shops. Sony says more people now buy games online. More than 85% of PlayStation game sales already happen in digital stores. This change may be hard for people who collect games. It may also change the second-hand market. In the future, new PlayStation consoles may not have a disc drive inside.
