Apple lost its case against the European Union. The case was about the App Store and iOS, the software that runs iPhones.
The court in Luxembourg rejected Apple’s challenge. It said the EU’s “gatekeeper” rules were legal. Apple also wanted to fight rules linked to iMessage, but the court did not accept those claims.
Apple said the rules may hurt safety and privacy. The company plans to appeal.
