A new report says that about half of workers in the United Kingdom fear losing their jobs because of artificial intelligence. In the report, 48% of people said they had this worry. Another 29% said AI tools are already being used in their workplaces, and 26% said AI has begun to take over some of their tasks. Workers are also concerned that AI may be used for tracking performance or watching employees. A separate study by Stack Overflow found a sharp rise in AI use, including a 90% year-over-year increase and a 164% rise in daily use. Even so, human oversight remains important. Sixty-three percent of workers rarely or never allow AI agents to finish tasks without it. Companies are cautious too, mainly because of accuracy, security, and privacy risks.
