Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal, also called Shaq, appears in many ads. In 1992, he and his agent, Leonard Armato, made a plan. Shaq kept his name and his own business picture, or logo. Companies paid to use them. He says his logo has appeared on more than 400 million pairs of low-cost shoes.
Shaq says he only does ads for products he believes in. He said no to Wheaties cereal because he never ate it. He works with The General because it gave him car insurance in college.
He also dislikes rich sports stars showing off their money online. He says he mainly uses social media to make people laugh and help them feel ready to do good things.
