Emirates May Fly to Three More US Cities

Emirates is looking at flights to Denver, Detroit and Philadelphia. New planes could help it fly to more places from Dubai.

Emirates may add flights from Dubai to Denver, Detroit and Philadelphia. Airline president Tim Clark named these cities as possible choices. The airline has more places on its list, too. Emirates last added a US city in 2021. It started flying to Miami and stopped flying to nearby Fort Lauderdale.

New planes could help Emirates reach more cities and make money on those flights. The airline has ordered more than 300 new planes from Airbus and Boeing. It expects its first Boeing 777-9 planes in 2027. These planes will have 300 to 400 seats. The first planes were due in 2020.

Clark says Emirates still plans to grow despite fighting involving Iran and a group in Yemen. Many people still want to fly with the airline. Its Bangkok flights remain full. Emirates also continues to make money despite high fuel prices. In 2023, Emirates and United Airlines started working together on flights and rewards for travelers. Denver is a main airport for United. Emirates already flies to all of United's other main airports.
