Netflix has chosen Peter Rice to lead its shows, movies, and live events around the world. Rice once led Disney’s television business. He takes over from Bela Bajaria. She has held the job since January 2023. She is leaving Netflix after almost 10 years.
Netflix announced the change on Thursday. A day earlier, it announced plans to cut about 1,000 jobs. That is about 6% of its workers. Most cuts affect teams for technology, products, legal work, and staff needs. Netflix’s two top leaders said the business was strong and growing. They also said the company still expected to reach its goals for the year.
