Heidi Klum appeared at her annual Halloween celebration in New York wearing a gigantic, bloody replica of her own left hand. Created using body scans, the 2026 costume reproduced distinctive details, including her engagement and wedding rings and the tattoo bearing her husband Tom Kaulitz's name.
The model said she conceived the idea last year while looking at her hand and wondering whether her body could fit inside an enlarged version. Special effects makeup artist Mike Marino, who has helped realize several of her previous Halloween creations, was again behind the transformation.
Kaulitz was absent because of a concert in Germany, although Klum said she would have loved to hold hands with him. In previous years, he has complemented her elaborate outfits by dressing as an egg alongside her peacock and as a fisherman alongside her giant worm. Klum herself has also appeared as E.T. and Fiona from the animated film Shrek.
Her daughter, Leni Klum, attended as Miss Piggy, complete with pig ears, oversized eyelashes and a purple feather boa. Actors Kyle MacLachlan and Neil Patrick Harris were among the other guests, with Harris and his husband, David Burtka, appearing as sinister twins.
On the evening before the party, Klum hosted a smaller gathering at her pizzeria in New York's Soho neighborhood. Rather than wearing the monstrous hand, she chose an orange dress and black boots for the occasion.
