Ron Vachris leads Costco. He became the company’s top boss in 2024. His rise took about 40 years. He did not finish college.
After high school, he studied business at a college in Arizona. He also worked part-time at Price Club. He drove a forklift for moving heavy goods. Price Club joined with Costco in 1993. Vachris became an assistant manager and later moved into bigger jobs.
His father gave him simple advice: Choose a good company. Find one with the same ideas about what is right. Do not work just to get a bigger job title. Vachris followed this advice. He took his working life one step at a time.
