Disney spent 250 million dollars to make it. It also spent 145 million dollars to promote it. In the United States, it made 43 million dollars in its first weekend. Around the world, it made 95 million dollars.
Early reports say Disney may lose 125 million dollars on the film. The story is set in ancient Polynesia. Catherine Laga'aia plays Moana, and Dwayne Johnson returns as Maui.
