IMF head Kristalina Georgieva says spending on smart computer tools, called AI, helps the world economy grow about 3% a year. Energy prices are still high. Asian countries like Thailand gain the most from making equipment for AI.
AI will change about 40% of jobs worldwide. It will help some jobs but make others worse or no longer needed. The share is about 60% in richer countries and 23% in the poorest countries. Young people face problems first. Many simple tasks in their first jobs are disappearing.
AI will also change education and how governments collect taxes. Singapore's president says governments must act. Without action, rich and developing countries could grow further apart in jobs and economic growth.
