Taiwan's TSMC makes chips, the tiny parts inside computers. Its profit reached 763.1 billion New Taiwan dollars from July to September. This was 69% higher than a year earlier. It was the company's sixth record profit in a row. Money from sales rose 51% to 1.49 trillion New Taiwan dollars.
Demand for artificial intelligence, or AI, hardware remains strong. Customers want more chips than TSMC can make. But the company is careful about its plans for 2027. Parts cost more, and the economy is uncertain.
TSMC plans another factory in Tainan. It expects production to start in early 2028. Its second Arizona factory should start making chips in large numbers in the third quarter of 2027, earlier than planned.
