Emirates looks at flights to three more US cities

Emirates may fly to Denver, Detroit and Philadelphia. New planes could help it serve more cities from Dubai.

Emirates is looking at possible flights from Dubai to Denver, Detroit and Philadelphia. The airline's president, Tim Clark, says many other cities are also possible. Emirates last added a US city in 2021. It started flying to Miami instead of nearby Fort Lauderdale. Its last completely new US city was Newark in 2017.

Emirates has ordered more than 300 new planes from Airbus and Boeing. These planes use less fuel and could help the airline make money on flights to more cities. Emirates expects its first Boeing 777-9 planes in 2027. The first planes will have 300 to 400 seats. The airline first expected this type of plane in 2020.

Clark says Emirates still plans to grow despite fighting involving Iran and the Houthi group in Yemen. Many people still want to travel with the airline. Its flights to Bangkok remain full. Emirates also continues to make money despite high fuel prices. It is the biggest airline at Dubai International Airport. Its flights connect people from Europe and North America with places across India, Southeast Asia and Africa.
