Three Friends Find a Ring and Take It to Ireland

Patrick Mohr lost his wedding ring in Italy. Three friends found it after days of searching and took it to his home in Ireland.

Patrick Mohr from Ireland was on vacation in Italy with his wife and children. He and his wife were married for 16 years. While they played in a mountain stream, one child grabbed his hand. His gold wedding ring slipped off into the fast water. Mohr thought it was gone forever. His wife went to ask three young Italian friends for help: Filippo Palagi, Nicola Malloggi, and Edoardo Poggi.

The friends promised to find the ring and take it to Ireland. They searched from small boats for two days without success. On the third day, they tied themselves to large rocks. They used snorkeling equipment to look underwater. Malloggi saw something shine in the sand. He picked up some sand and found the ring. Mohr was in Tuscany with his family when a message and a photo brought him the news.

The friends let Mohr finish his vacation. Later, they flew to Ireland with the ring. They arrived at his home dressed as characters from The Lord of the Rings and sang songs from the films. Their visit included Glendalough, an old abbey and lake, and the nearby Glenmalure Valley. They also enjoyed drinks at a local bar and a traditional Irish dinner.
