Lego Adapts a Fan-Built Daft Punk Pyramid Into an Official Set

A lockdown project inspired by Daft Punk’s 2007 Alive tour is being developed into an official Lego product, potentially marking the start of a broader collaboration.

Daft Punk’s pyramid stage from the 2007 Alive tour is set to become an official Lego product, as the company develops a fan-built tribute into a commercial set. The forthcoming model builds on a design that won Lego’s Music to Our Ears contest in 2020, bringing a fan interpretation of the French duo’s concert staging into the company’s official range.

Originally conceived as a COVID-lockdown project by a father and son from Luxembourg, the fan model comprises approximately 2,000 pieces. Its illuminated pyramid contains a motorized, rotating box of transparent bricks, designed to evoke the visual spectacle of the original stage. Lego’s designers are working with its creator, Patrick Harboun, known as RobotRock, to develop the final product.

The announcement also points toward a potentially broader partnership. Julia Goldin, Lego’s marketing chief, characterized the project as the opening step in a larger creative collaboration rather than an isolated release. Although the pyramid will give the duo an official Lego set, it is not their first appearance in brick-based form: they previously made a cameo performing “Get Lucky” in Piece by Piece, the 2024 Lego-animated film about Pharrell Williams. Further news about the upcoming set is expected from Lego in 2027.
