Three filmmakers have solved a nearly 200-year-old mystery: exactly where the first people captured in a photograph were standing. Their search identified the location in Paris, which is now marked by a bronze plaque, a metal sign that celebrates the historic site and the early photograph.
The investigation took two years. The filmmakers searched archives, collections of historical records, and built three-dimensional models of Paris as it looked in the 19th century.
