Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, faces the risk that its license application in the European Union will be rejected. Reuters reported that the company’s request through Greece may not succeed. If that happens, Binance could lose the legal right to serve customers in the EU from early July.
The EU’s MiCA rules now require crypto companies to get a license by the end of June. Under this system, a license from one EU country can be used across all 27 member states. Binance submitted its application to Greece’s Capital Market Commission.
The company said on X that it wants an orderly process and wants to reduce trouble for users. A spokesperson said Binance believes it has met the required conditions. The company also said it has not received an official refusal notice from the regulator. Binance plans to share another update before June 30, 2026.
