Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal built a business around his name. In 1992, he made a plan with Leonard Armato, his business helper. O’Neal kept his name and his logo, a picture for his business. Companies paid to use them in adverts.
His logo later appeared on over 400 million pairs of low-cost shoes. He says he only advertises products he believes in. He chose The General because the company sold him car insurance at a price he could pay in college. He wants people to afford the things he advertises.
O’Neal dislikes rich athletes showing off their money online. He says he mainly uses social media to make people laugh and help them feel ready to do good things.
