Citroën unveiled an electric concept inspired by its classic 2CV at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October 2026. A concept is a vehicle that presents ideas for a possible future model. The French carmaker wants to bring the simplicity and affordability of the original into a modern electric car.
The new design measures 3.76 metres in length and has a spacious interior. Its simple appearance keeps links with the old 2CV, while introducing modern electric technology. Citroën says the project is about more than bringing back a familiar design. It also aims to offer a practical car for everyday journeys, with engineering work focused on keeping it light and strong.
The company intends to begin production within two years, by 2028. It expects the car to be made in Europe and is targeting a starting price of around €15,000. These remain plans rather than a confirmed product launch or final price. Citroën hopes that keeping costs down will make electric cars more accessible and strengthen its position in the European market.
