France’s Highest Hotel Opens Again

A mountain hotel in France opens again after more than 30 years. It has 16 rooms with wide views.

France’s highest hotel opens again. Hôtellerie des Laquets stands in the Pyrenees mountains, about 2,620 meters above the sea. It stayed closed for more than 30 years. After work on the building, it opened again in late September. It has 16 rooms for two people. Every room has wide views.

Guests take two cable cars to get there. The first goes from La Mongie to the top of Pic du Midi. The second takes them down to the hotel. The hotel is in an area with dark skies. People can see stars and the Milky Way without light pollution. The hotel also plans to open a place to relax, with hot air and steam rooms, in December.
