Patrick Mohr went on holiday to Italy with his wife and children. He and his wife married 16 years earlier. He played with his children in a mountain stream. One child took his hand, and his gold wedding ring fell into the fast water. Mohr felt very sad. His wife went to ask three young Italian friends for help. Their names were Filippo Palagi, Nicola Malloggi and Edoardo Poggi.
Inspired by The Lord of the Rings, the friends promised to find the ring and take it to Ireland. They searched in small boats for two days without success. On the third day, they tied themselves to large rocks with ropes. They used special equipment to look under the water. Malloggi saw something shine in the sand and found the ring.
Mohr was in Tuscany with his family when he received a photo of the ring on his phone. The friends later flew to Ireland to return it. They wore clothes like hobbits, characters from The Lord of the Rings, and sang songs from the films. Their visit included trips to Glendalough and Glenmalure Valley and an Irish dinner.
