Astronomers have rebuilt the universe in unusual detail with help from the James Webb Space Telescope. Their new map is the largest one made so far. It shows how galaxies have evolved since the universe was young, around 13 billion years ago. It also shows how they come together in the cosmic web, which is the largest known structure in existence. The cosmic web includes galaxy clusters and clusters of clusters, along with gas filaments, stars, empty spaces and sheets of dark matter. Together, these parts form the large-scale shape of the cosmos.
