The flight had left Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and later landed safely. The pilot told air traffic control that a firework had hit the plane, and the airline said the aircraft made contact with a firework during descent. No one was injured, and the incident was reported to aviation authorities. After landing, the Airbus A319 was inspected, and the airline said no damage was found. At the time, fireworks were being set off across the United States to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary.
