Fan-built Daft Punk stage to become an official Lego set

A model inspired by Daft Punk’s Alive tour is becoming an official Lego product. Its creator is helping Lego’s designers develop the final version.

Lego is developing an official set inspired by the pyramid stage from Daft Punk’s 2007 Alive tour. The product will build on a fan-made model that won the company’s Music to Our Ears contest in 2020. Lego’s designers are working on the final version with its creator, Patrick Harboun, who uses the name RobotRock.

The original model began as a project for a father and son in Luxembourg during the COVID lockdown. Made from about 2,000 pieces, it features a glowing pyramid stage. A motor turns a box of transparent bricks inside the structure, creating effects that reflect the appearance of Daft Punk’s live show.

The French duo have appeared as Lego figures before. In the 2024 animated film Piece By Piece, about Pharrell Williams, they briefly performed Get Lucky. Lego’s marketing chief, Julia Goldin, described the new announcement as the beginning of a wider creative partnership, suggesting that more projects could follow. The company has not announced the set’s price or release date, but it says more news will arrive in 2027.
