Could AI help older people in creative jobs?

Advertising companies often look for young workers and customers. But AI could help older creative workers use their experience in new ways.

Advertising often focuses on young people. In 2025, the typical age of workers in advertising was 39, compared with 42 for workers overall. One report says companies spend only 5% to 10% of their advertising money on reaching older customers.

Brands want to reach young customers, and advertising companies want to hire young workers. They use newer online services such as TikTok. But some older creative workers also use AI, or artificial intelligence, in their work.

These workers include people who design games, make films, take photographs and create moving pictures. They have spent many years building characters, pictures and imaginary worlds. They understand light, movement and stories. They can also notice when something does not feel right.

AI can make advertising, but it cannot copy real experience. Older workers could use it to give their careers a fresh start. Knowing how to use a new AI tool is not the same as knowing what to make with it.
