China’s highest bridge brings visitors

The world’s highest bridge makes travel faster and offers visitors exciting things to do.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in China is the world’s highest bridge. It stands 2,054 feet above a river. It opened on 28 September 2025. Drivers now cross the canyon in two minutes. Before, the trip took two hours.

Tourism was always part of the plan. Visitors can look out from a glass room or walk on a narrow path high above the river. They can also try bungee jumping: jumping with a strong, stretchy rope. At night, visitors can watch light shows.

The bridge has recorded about 3.3 million visits. More tourists now visit nearby places too. Local businesses benefit from better travel links. Hotels often have no free rooms at weekends and during public holidays.
