Delete your account in the app
You can delete your LevelNews account yourself at any time, on iPhone, iPad or Android. Deletion is immediate.
- Open the LevelNews app.
- Tap the settings (gear) button at the top of the feed.
- Tap the account card at the top (Sign in, or your sign-in method if you are signed in).
- Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the screen and confirm.
This works whether or not you have signed in with Apple or Google. If you are signed in, delete the account from a device where you are signed in to it.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes the following from our servers:
- your account and its identifiers;
- your reading level, language settings, interests, and reader voice;
- your saved words, notes, review schedule, and streak;
- the list of stories you have read;
- your Apple and Google sign-in links (including the email address they provided);
- your device records, including push notification tokens.
If you signed in with Apple, the app's Sign in with Apple authorization is revoked as well. Deletion cannot be undone: if you use LevelNews again later, you start with a new, empty account.
What is kept
We keep only aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (for example, how many times a story was listened to) that cannot be linked back to you. Residual copies may remain in server logs and backups for a limited period until they are overwritten in normal operation.
Can't use the app?
If you no longer have the app installed or cannot open it, email us at [email protected] with the subject "Delete my account". If you signed in with Apple or Google, send the request from, or mention, the email address of that sign-in so we can find your account. We will delete it and confirm within 30 days.
If you never signed in, your data is tied only to an anonymous identifier on your device. Uninstalling the app removes that identifier, and the unused records can no longer be connected to you.
See our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle your information.
