NASA’s Roman Space Telescope takes clearer pictures than scientists expected. It went into space on August 30. Engineers tested its camera system and made very small changes. The main camera system now works nearly 30% better than expected.
The team moved one mirror a very small distance. This helped bring the pictures into focus. The telescope’s second instrument now works as well as the team expected. Engineers plan more tests to check how well it blocks unwanted light.
Roman will take pictures of large areas of space. These sharper pictures will help scientists study some of the biggest mysteries of the universe.
