Women's football could soon be worth one billion dollars. But many players still earn little money and feel unsure about their jobs. The players' group Fifpro asked more than 800 footballers about their situation.
Money problems could make 59% leave football early. Stress could make 46% leave. Also, 57% had problems with their mental health. Half of these players got no help from their clubs. Only two in three players get pay for all 12 months.
There is some good news. Fewer players now think about leaving to have a family. New rules help mothers stay in football. Fifpro wants the sport to grow. But it also wants better care for players and a voice for them in important decisions.
