Three filmmakers have solved a mystery dating back almost 200 years: exactly where the first people captured in a photograph were standing. They spent two years searching archives, or collections of historical records, and building three-dimensional models of Paris as it looked in the 19th century.
Their research identified the spot where the people stood. The historic location now has a bronze plaque, a metal sign that celebrates both the site and the early photograph.
